PreserFlo® MicroShunt
Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) was developed to reduce the surgical and postoperative treatment burden while still achieving sufficient lowering of intraocular pressure in patients with mild to moderate glaucoma.
The PreserFlo® MicroShunt is an 8.5 mm-long drainage implant made from a biocompatible material. Its internal lumen is narrow enough to prevent overly low intraocular pressure, yet wide enough to avoid blockage by cellular debris or pigment. The implant is placed externally.
After surgery, a filtration bleb forms under the conjunctiva. Several clinical studies have demonstrated the long-term safety and efficacy of the PreserFlo® MicroShunt, confirming its effectiveness over an extended period along with a favorable safety profile.
