iStent Inject® Implant

The iStent Inject® is considered the smallest implant, with a length of 1mm, and 0.33 millimeters high.

​

The implant  improves the outflow of aqueous humor in the eye, which can significantly reduce eye pressure.

 

The unique mechanism of the iStent Inject® directs the aqueous humor into the natural outflow channel of the eye.

The implant then acts as a kind of artificial connection between the anterior chamber of the eye and the deeper outflow pathway of the aqueous humor (the so-called "Schlemm canal").

​

The iStent Inject® implant is suitable, for example, when:

  • eye pressure lowering drops are no longer sufficient

  • the pressure lowering eye drops cause too many side effects (e.g. allergic reactions)

  • life circumstances do not allow the regular use of pressure-lowering eye drops
